Hi all,

I announced this a week ago at racing, but I'll post it here for anyone that missed the announcement.

Most of you will remember Brian Bodine from Speed Weekend this past summer.  He came up from Washington State and ran Nitro with us at Speed Weekend.  Brian is a class act, and was very excited to hear about our 12th Scale program.  Brian is a 12th-scaler at heart, and so he and some of his fellow racers are going to come up and join us for our club race on November 20th!  There will be four or five racers travelling up to join in the fun!

So... in order to properly welcome our guests, I am hoping to drum-up a big turnout of racers from our local club.  I have also extended the invite to our friends in Vancouver that have 12th Scale cars.

So, mark it on your calendars, and make sure you come out for racing on November 20th!

FYI:  We are hoping to start track setup a little early that day so we can get some extended practice and build-up traction levels a little more than usual.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Are you not worried about time limitations should we shorten practice if there are lots of racers? We seem to use up all the time with what we get already.

Blake

Hi Shane,

Yes, I am worried about the time limitations; that's why I am hoping we can get a group to show-up and begin track setup early.  The gym is completely empty at noon, so if we can get a few people to show up at 3PM then we can maybe have the track built by 4PM.  That gives us an extra hour for the evening.

Depending on turnout, we might have to start the first qualifier earlier than normal (maybe around 5:30PM).  Note that I don't want to cause trouble for people that work on Saturdays, or people that might be travelling down from Nanaimo.

I am available to show up early and help with setup.

I will be there as well, and I'm pretty sure Craig will since it was actually his idea.

Seeing as how I'm usually there around 3 anyway, count me in too!

Thanks guys; looks like we'll have a good crew to help get things setup a little early.  If all goes well, we can start open practice at 4PM.  Then depending on turnout, we'll start Q1 somewhere around 5:30PM I would think.

I will be there a bit earlier too, has anyone asked the B&G club about an early entrance? Usually by the time I get there Gord is trying to get Bill's attention to open the doors, and that is around 3pm.

Maybe we can let him know (Bill) that we need in around 2:30 on the 20th.

Yeah, would you mind mentioning this to him this Saturday Gord?  I don't always get there in time to speak with him.

*** NOTE:  If you normally work on Saturdays, don't worry that you'll miss any racing.  Q1 may start a *little* early (around 5:30PM) but everyone has usually arrived by then.  I will talk to the Nanaimo group to see what time they can make it down that night.

Thanks,
Blake
