Good day!

So after breaking a rear wheel in round 1, in round 2 my car lost power and after turning it off and on again the first 2 and last 2 led's where flashing indicating wrong motor type even though it showed BL-FR on the computer. After talking to a few others the opinion was a posible Tekin failure.

Now not because I don't value the opinion of others (I listen well) I just wanted to confirm through proccess of elimination that this was true befor calling Tekin to send it in. After removing the on/off switch; taking the speedo appart and cleaning it; resoldering all solder conections; cleaning the motor inside and relubing the bearings; trying it with 7.4 volts; trying a different sensor wire; I finaly tried a different motor and that was it. I am assuming it is the sensor ring.

I just thougt I would share my expereance so that others my not assume that there speedo is at fault and not send it in when not nessisary.

I had the same lights 1-2/6-7 on mine last year and I took all the steps you just did but the new motor would not work so I went to the tekin web site and downloaded the pdf file and followed the instructions on how to send it in. In my case it was blown fets and it cost $75.00 to get a new ESC that had no warranty left on it.

Good to hear to found the problem

Not gonna dump the tekins. Though i might get a sxx v2 tcspec for my wgt build to try. Has built in booster for single cell apparently and no need for a hotwire.
Nice to try different stuff if possible.

I have seen the LED 12-67 thing a few times as well, and it is *usually* caused by the ESC not getting enough voltage in a 1s application.  If your RX pack is dead, or your booster is dead, or your main 1s pack is dead, you can get this light combo.  So, definitely test all those before sending it in.  A quick test is to simple plug in a charged 7.4V pack.

Franko had the 12-67 thing at the Big Chill, but even a 7.4V pack didn't help him; so sometimes you may have to send it in.  Just check all your bases first.

Tekin may have a few quirks, but they're totally outweighed by the fact that the ESC remains competitive year after year, with free firmware updates.  In the 3.5 years that the Tekin RS has been on the market, I haven't had to purchase a different ESC to keep up with the Joneses.  I don't think any other BL ESC can make that claim.
