IROCC Speed Weekend 2013 Summer Touring Car Trophy Race

The Island Radio Operated Car Club (IROCC) in Victoria BC is pleased to announce its Speed Weekend 2013 Asphalt trophy race this summer.  We've had great fun doing this race for the last eight summers, and we're eager to do it again this year.  Over the last eight years we've been amazed at the level of racer support we've received from both local and out-of-town racers (averaging about 105 entries per year), and we hope that will continue again this summer!

Race date: July 6-7, 2013

We've actually never taken pre-registration for Summer Speed Weekend but I usually hear through the grapevine who may or may not be racing.  It sounds like all our usual out-of-town supporters will be back again this year.  Now I hope the rest of the IROCC club shows up too!

See ya on Friday night,
Blake

Hope more Locals come out. Otherwise i
Might have to start putting my 12th scale together to help pad the mod class ha. 4 again. Was a nightmare last two speedweekends for me.

I guess everyone in irocc will be on tech/announcer duty this year?

Blake

Tech will be scaled back this year for sure.  And yes, we'll need some extra help in the announcers booth without Jody and Nick N.

Super Mario

Super Mario, Fast Eddie, John Tsang and Special Guest Chuck (0000000)  will be making their way down on Friday nite.

Looking forward to a fantastic weekend. I think its gonna be HOT! Finally some good, fun racing action! Boom!

i bought this up at racing but maybe ask here too.. is there enough spare tents in the club to possibly cover the driver stand if its brutal like last week? not so bad for 5 minutes but 8 minutes of 12th scale, or 15-30 minutes of nitro sure will be.

Its not going to be as hot as last weekend. I have called mother nature, and we will have blue skies, 20-22, (feel like 25), 10% percipation.    Wear some sunscreen and a wide rimmed hat (ie. Niel's hat).  Maybe I will wear my Panama hat I picked up when I was... In Panama....  ;)

I know in the past, craig has used a damp tower under his hat to keep his neck and head cool during the long mains.

Bring lots of Water, and stay hydrated.   Crap. Now your making me sound like my wife.

Cya Friday..
