Personnally I think Sorex are king.. Esp for outside, however the Sweep QTS tires are designed for use on carpet, and are supposed to work quite well.  The ones you ordered are the 32R's, which are designed for asphalt.

You going to use these for mod?    If I had known I have some 25's!  Had some 20's kicking around, might be able to locate a set.

ah. who knows what ill use em for. im sure my sorex's from speed weekend will last the rest of the outdoor season. just saw x3 sets of tires for $50 and wanted to try them. The sorex tires were definitely great... out of the bag... they fall off pretty hard though.. qualifiers 1-3 were pretty awesome. i was able to do 12.6 in touring stock regularly but come sunday both of my cars were pushing all over the place. i had to save on set and use the other one for both my tc stock and mod car for round 4 qualifying, and the saved ones for the main.. smart me would have kept one set aside for the mains.. might have done better in tcmod as my qualifying was as high as r3 for a while.

My ride tires were pretty good when i tested them on carpet. they worked REALLY well on ashphalt after being broken in first on carpet. I was going to try a new set outdoors but didnt work out this year.

Ill try the sweeps on both stock and mod though not sure which ill have with my next race day. Im expecting to get my new Orca esc, TX17.5 motor and spec r touring car this next week, but i kinda wanna save the spec r until the speedpassion power system shows up.

we should run tcmod at QA. its funny.. im more excited about the reventon stock club race package i got for $64 than the Orca VX i got WITH program card for $200.. and i wasnt even going to buy another touring car. was gonna run 2x 12th scales but just couldnt say no to a $89 spec r! lol.

Im not allowed to go on rcmart again is what that tells me.

I guess ill plan to get the tires either tuesday or next sunday at racing. Weather permitting ill plan to come out tuesday for a few laps though. Cars have sat untouched for some weeks now.

Shawn the f1 looks cool. But why do you need a 10.5 for wgt and a 13.5 for 12 scale. Is that for binky mode when you travel.

valk

WCICS rules are changing this year to 13.5 blinky for 12th scale stock and 10.5 blinky for wgt. that makes our classes in line with roar spec races down south. im sure for the first couple club races we wont push this spec but it will be important for speed weekend.

cheifman

So the rules for club racing this winter are changing. What classes are we running then this winter.

dajracer

We are looking at it, Dan. But as of right now, 1/12 will be either 17.5 boosted or13.5 blinky.WGT will be 13.5 boosted or10.5 blinky whichever you want. We are trying to align ourselves with WCICS and the rest of the RC world.

cheifman

OK so we are running wgt  and 12 scale17.5 or13.5. Not 10.5 boosted 12 scale? I know it is still early but I am just starting to go over my stuff and order what I need.

Hi Dan,

I have posted some info about our Winter race program here:

Let's move discussion over there.

Thanks,
Blake

next step up from 13.5 blinky is modified. though if 17.5 boost or 13.5 non boost are supposed to be the same speed, 10.5 boost is a reasonable stepping stone to mod. though. the laptimes probably wouldnt be that much different. 10.5 was only able to get 1-2 laps better from the very top. 49/50 laps from 17.5 boost and 51/52 out of 10.5. mistakes hurt a lot in 10.5 lol. though i suppose you can make up from them easier with the extra speed. i mean. the ones that dont end with a broken car lol.
