Mod Roll Out

Just curious on the rollout's guys are running in Mod.. I am putting to gether my mod 8.5T (Boosted), but I have been unable to find any good HW boost setups for a 8.5'ish motor. Everyone seems to be running 4.5T's!

Think I'm around 38 with 4.5 and hobbywing 3.1. In 10.5 I was 55ish. Try 50.

Didn't you buy a 4.5 as well? If you don't have luck with 8.5 just run 4.5 with no boost. Though turn your punch rates down or you might have trouble making 8 minutes ha.
. I'm running 10 and 15/30 in the 3.1. Dunno what the 2.1 offers there.

I do have a 4.5, but I am sure the 8.5 will be plenty fast for me. Besides, I don't know if my batteries will actually make it even with the 8.5. They are already getting pretty slow with the 13.5....

start with 50-55 rollout and maybe 20 turbo. boost is optional as you really dont need lots of timing. id say try out your blinky profile with the 8.5 but make sure you turn down punch. I forgot to do this and my 4.5 massacred my turnigy 5.6 cell in 3 minutes lol. hobbywing dock reported a voltage sag to 2.9 volts lol.

I took Todd Mason's advice a couple of years ago, put a 26/96 gear setup on my car, and have never touched it since. Tire size goes up and down a little obviously, but it's not enough to feel much difference. My rear tires range from 45mm to 42mm usually. This setup will make an 8 minute race on a 4.5 with heavy boost, but just barely.

I am close to what blake runs 24/96 lots of boost and 42.5-40 tires also managed to dump 7000 90c pack on speed weekend stupid fast .I started with no boost and slowly turned it up

Ok Thanks. Should be interesting, I was checking out the MOD setups from CRC's website, and they appear to be pretty close to what I already run. Only real difference in the foam. I have some Pink/Mag (CRC), and some Pink/DPink (Jaco). Figure I will work with those, and see if I can get it to work. Doesn't look like a lot of racers signing up for 1/12 Mod in Kamloops. Will be lucky if there are two heats.
