Actully I would like to know what it would cost for non-members.  As I only think I will be only able to race a few weekends this summer.   Also the spec tire rule.  how is it going to work.  are we able to purchase a extra set to practise with( cause it would be unfair to practise with your only set of race tires.). and what happen's if one break a wheel.  what would the price  be for one tire.
ood grief I think I lost my....
. one turn at a time, but what do I have to do on the straight's again.

there was no mention about extra tires being available for practice, only that you will purchuse up to three sets for the entire season which will be marked by date, and only allowed for use during a certain date range. this will prevent people from buying three tires and running a new one each time they come out.
of course if you buy the tires and only make it out once in the period those tires are good for you still have an advantage of having better tires.

as your tires are passed their useful dates, you could of course use them as practice or use your own purchased tires of the same compound if you wish but only tires marked by our own tech team will be allowed.
if a tire breaks, it will of course be replaced and we will have a few open bags for this eventuality.
I wouldnt expect there to be more spares until we gauge the scope of participation and how many tires we need to carry.
I dont know if the it will be encouraged to purchase all three sets up front or if you will be able to buy them upon the dates we intend to enforce the rules.
basically we want people to run the same tires for a month or more so you dont have someone showing up every week and putting new tires on.

there might be changes to the platform talked about at the meeting but Im not qualified to answer any of that.

Matt has ordered the first batch of tires.  They are Much More 32 Absolute Premounts.  These are a great pick for our track.  The cost will be $35 per set.  We were hoping to get $30, but the current US exchange rate makes that impossible.

We didn't talk about purchasing extra practice sets.  My feeling is to keep it simple, and affordable, and NOT sell any additional sets of tires to anyone beyond their 3-set quota.

PS - I posted this on Facebook a few days ago.  This is the 2014 version of Nick K's touring car for $119.99:

And this is the 2013 model, in graphite for $229.99:

I am very strongly considering one of these as a club racer this summer.  They look like very well featured touring cars, at a fraction of the cost of the bigger name brands.  If anyone is interested in one, let me know as we might be able to save on a combined order from somewhere.

PPS.  I'll talk to Daryl about the non-member cost.  My feeling is that an addition $5 per day would make sense.  That's just my opinion.

If I'm not mistaken, the spec tire deal was not that we were going to sell new tires every 3-4 weeks, it was taking in to consideration those who were unable to race every w/e and that new sets would be sold to members and non-members after 3-4 weeks of use. The time frame for use on sets of tires was to be determined.
Yes, Andrew, there would be individual tires sold if a rim was to break. Individual tires would not be replaced due to wear since the setup on your car is generally the cause of premature wear.
As I was replying to the previous questions, I see Blake has answered some of the questions I am answering as well.
I agree with Blake that non-members should pay an additional $5.00/day on top of the $5.00/class- that is 2 classes for a non-member would be $15.00 compared to $10.00 for a member.

Hey guys,

Yes it's allowed.  You can grandfather in any set of 32 tires you want for this summer, up to three sets.  This means that, if you already own 32 compound tires (new or used), you can run them this summer.  We'll just mark them like we're going to mark the spec IROCC tires.

When Summer Speed Weekend rolls around, you can buy a set of IROCC spec tires from the club, use them at the big race, and then start using them for club racing after that.

I think we'll probably make the rule that you must run your first set of tires (either IROCC spec, or grandfathered-in 32s) for 4 racedays before you can start into your second set.  And once you've run 8 racedays, then you can start on your final set.

Confusing... yes a little, but hopefully will make for a much more level playing field.
