OK one more last thing. (I missed Jrods comments.)

It would also depend on the compound.   It would be horrible to run Lilac on all four corners. But if were the new blues on all four, or Black/Yellow combo. Something that we knew worked on our track that wouldnt be too bad. We basically already have that.

And being locked into a compound isnt not as bad as an actual "spec" tire.  It would still allow sourcing from different suppliers (Not that there are many these days, but you could run donuts if you wanted.)
