Summer Speed Weekend 2017 Date Survey

Hey all,

I've had a few questions about the date for summer Speed Weekend 2017. Here are the two dates I see as the best choices:

July 1-2, 2017 (would be part of the Canada Day long weekend)
July 8-9, 2017 (tight up against the Timezone Grand Prix in WA State which starts July 13th, and may pull racers away from our race)

I'd like to hear from everyone about what date works best for you. Post your response below.

*** Note that we won't have any true certainty around the date until Juan de Fuca give us official approval to use the date we select.

Either works for myself but the long weekend would be my choice

i would like to do the 1,2. that would be much better for me. but either works.

if your worried about timezone, why not push it into june?

Trying to keep it on the traditional dates (1st or 2nd weekend in July) for consistency and weather reasons.

Unfortunately i will be away for both of those date, I have a wedding in Edmonton to attend on the 1st and will be working the weekend of the 8th.

FYI all:

Rob started the paperwork with Juan de Fuca. He has asked for both dates, but the July 1-2 date *might* be a problem due to Canada Day celebrations in the area. We will know more in the next couple weeks.

Hi all,

We heard back from Juan de Fuca today. We cannot use the parking lot over the Canada Day long weekend, but they have permitted us to use it on the July 8-9 weekend. So, that makes the decision easy!

July 8-9 2017 it is.

This is our "typical" date, and it's locked in stone so let's hope everyone can find a way to free it up on their calendars.
