I bought a Serpent 411, XR1O Justock ESC, Hitec servo, no body no tires. So is there more people consistently in CTA or Stock Touring? Do I get a 21.5T or 17.5T motor? I have a little experience with carpent racing, I had an Xray T3 used in CTA.

Where would I buy said motor? BC Shaver Shop doesn't have any. Would prefer to support local shops or used.

Blake has a shop at the track where you could get the motor. If he doesn't have one in stock, he can usually have it in the following week.

Hi there,

There are consistently more people racing in the 17.5 Touring class.  The 21.5 Scale Spec class is a little slower and easier to handle for newer racers - especially on our small-ish track but I'd probably recommend you go with the 17.5 just purely based on attendance numbers and the fact you can run the exact same class outdoors in the summer with us.  If the motor is too hot to handle initially, you can dial down the power in your ESC or radio.

I don't have any 17.5 motors in stock at my shop at the moment, but could get you one for next week.  Let me know if you want me to get you one.

In the meantime, I know we can find you a used loaner 17.5 motor to get started with.  If you can make it to the track this week for evening practice, or racing on Saturday, let me know and I'll try to track one down.

PS.  I have bodies and tires at my shop.

Thanks,
Blake

Hi Blake. I appreciate the help. I'm just working on getting my S411 built and setup. How much would a decent new 17.5T cost?

Newracer

What night is practice night? I'll come by and check out the track.

What are the hours at Matrix?

Thursday night's a few of show up to practice.  I will be there shortly after 4 . I might have a 17.5 motor for you as well.

I appreciate all the help/offers. Still building my car though, and it's going slow.

Hi,

New 17.5 motors are usually about $125 plus tax.

I'll be at the track on Thursday evening, probably from 5:00PM until 7:30PM.  Hopefully see you there.
