I bet Nick Newroths 94257 would work just fine.

Airtronics 94257 High-Speed Coreless 1.54x0.79x1.48 2.07oz 110 oz-in 0.06 sec 6.0 volt

This would be an excellent on-road touring car servo but I really wouldn't recomend it for anything bigger than a 1/10th scale buggy or stadium truck.  Something like my E-Maxx or your Savage are too heavy and the tires are too large.  Even with my 133 oz servo there is still lots to be desired if you are doing any crawling, etc.  Thats why I've opted for a 333 oz coreless for my E-Maxx

Coreless is the way to go esp with a big truck as they will typically hold 3x their turning torque (eg a coreless that will turn 128oz will hold over 300 oz opposing it)

except now your servo is worth more than your truck.

Hehe... almost but not quite :)  I think it was about $115 or so.  Besides buy a good servo and it will "serve" you well for a long time :)  I learnt early on nothing is quite as frustrating as running cheapo parts that fail to perform in your expensive toys....

most monster trucks sterring linkage are so sloppy that a high touque servo is wasted if all its doing is moving the servo saver. ditich the stock sterring linkage and servo saver and fork out the dough for this

on jiggys savage I'm using a jr 590m for sterring with the GH linkage and it works sweet. You can also make most 1\8th scale buggy ackermans work in you truck.

like grinder said (in less than 500 words wow) Don't cheap out, and seal your servos up. we sell alot of servos in the winter from running through puddles.

doesnt a 94257 ABSOLUTELY crush a JR590 that is marketed as "high-torque" servo? thats my point I still think the 94257 would be more than fine. And a 94257 was 200 bucks new so he wouldnt be cheaping out by anymeans. I think a JR590 is about 50 bucks.

The 94257 is a wicked servo compared to the 590m, my point was that if a low end jr servo can do it with some mild linkage mods. nicks (or soon to be jarrods) servo will rock

I still think if you are driving around on loose dirt 100 oz is fine but once you are crawling there just isn't enough umph to turn the wheels where you want 'em.  Agreed you can lose torque in the servo saver but again that depends on what saver you are using of course.

My E-Maxx came with an 80 oz servo which will do the trick but its garbage for any slow moving applications.  The JR590M at 85oz/.15sec @ 6v will also work.  Again I don't think for low speed applications its optimal by any means.  110 isn't much of a jump either.

Don't get me wrong - the servo is an awesome servo but I don't think a heavy truck is a good place for it.  It would kick a$$ on a touring car (or for those so inclined a 1/12th scale).  The transit speed is awesome at 0.06 making it one of the fastest out there.

Well if jarrod doesnt buy it then someone should be planning ahead for next summer. So many people are always looking for a servo for their TC's ...well here is the one you need, get on it, they are a rare find used and usually go for no less than what they are worth on eBay...

I want my 10%!! buy it!

Definately and awesome touring car servo and a great price.  Speed is a key factor when looking for a touring car servo and this is one - if not the fastest servos out there.  Plus for a touring car it has gobs of torque...
