2010 Speed Weekend recap
« on: July 11, 2010, 09:58:58 PM »
Was it just my memory, or was that one of the best/smoothest speed weekends ever?

Thanks all.

Brian Bodine gave us this great review on RCTech:

Quote:

Wow, what a fanatic weekend of racing! What a undiscovered gem on the tip of the Island. This place needs to be promoted more. This turned out to be well worth the effort to attend. The people were friendly & grateful, the track was very forgiving, traction was amazing - the best I've been on in many years, and the program ran very well. I was particularly impressed with the club members picking up the mic and running with it. It was great to meet so many people and revisit with some that I haven't seen in 10+ years. It was nice to shake hands with Mick after doing a few years of business with, to sit the pits and take it in. To chat with Craig and share his passion of rc. He's a fantastic driver that pushed my game to the limit. His excitement over the gas sedan victory by jumping off the drivers stand to run over and hug his girlfriend-pitman, was awesome. I would have done the same, but my knee was kinda locked up after a half hour and Paul was probably getting a little smelly by that time. We missed out dinner with Eddie & Mario, but there will just have to be another race for that. Ken and Ken continued to ask me to resurrect SARCAR so they could go 1/8th scale racing again. They both provided stiff competition and good chase. Got to sit down for lunch with Blake and talk. I am impressed with the organization and coordination of the Victoria Club. Clearly there is a very effective formula here. I have no question your success will continue. I will do my best to let our locals know of your little secret hid-a-way. There's no way you can keep this all to yourselves!

We managed to make the 6p boat and rolled in the front door about 11p, but well worth the effort. Thanks for the great race!

Hands down, this was the best race that I have never been to.

Way to go, IROCCETS.
