2009 Outdoor Tire Order
« on: February 03, 2009, 11:34:37 AM »
Hi, Guys.

Hard to believe but outdoor racing is just a couple of short months away! I chatted with Blake yesterday and in preparation for those who are interested, this Saturday I will be coming around with a group order spec and price sheet for the following tires:

JACO Prizm Rubber (Green and Blue)
XENON MAXX Rubber (28R and 32R)
Nitro Shoes
JACO Pro10 Foam (likely Green, White, and Pink Rears, Black, Green and Double Pink Fronts all on black rims)
Corally Pro10 Foam (the go-to compounds are Gold Rears with Goldstar Medium or Hard Fronts on black or white rims)
Motors
Batteries

Naturally, folks are able to use whatever brand they like and the purpose of this process is to do a bulk order to keep prices as low as possible. For the rubber sedan tires, JACO has been hit and miss. A handful of guys tried them last year with mixed results at best. They are also the more expensive of the two options. The XENON MAXX rubber is new and has been used in a number of US races as a handout tire, most recently at the US indoor champs. The price is right and they would be less than last year's cost. Just before Christmas they were also used at a 1 hour endurance race in Florida where the winning team used only one set with no belts showing at the end!!! I have ordered some in and inspected them. They have standard sidewalls which is better for asphalt as opposed to the lower profile JACOs. Your call. We'll likely consider another order Mid July. See you at the track.

Hi, Guys.

Heads up that I'll be collecting the info this Saturday. One of the distros has run out of some of the popular Pro10 tire compounds and they are out of some of the big batteries we are after. They have asked that we get the details to them ASAP since they sell about as quickly as they can import them. We had to do this last year, too, around this time simply to have them on hand for April/May.

Hi, Guys.

Thanks for the uptake on the summer order. A will wait until next Wednesday to submit the orders. If you know of anyone who wasn't at the track on Sat but is interested in the cost savings, please let them know and they can shoot me a PM. Thanks.

Hey, Guys.

Just heard back from Corally. They are sold out of the Gold rears. For those who ordered that brand, please PM me with your revised Pro10 tire combos and quantities. There were 6 of you. Tx.

Hi, All.

Status Update: Please, no need to PM me regarding tires, batteries etc on order for the club. I simply don't have the time these days to respond individually. Sorry if I have been out of touch with some of your messages. I'm having to prioritize pretty much every waking minute.

Corally: Foam, Rubber and Parts were shipped last week and may well be here today

Tekin: ESCs for Craig, Rob and Glenn were shipped last week and may well be here today as well

Canwest: Nitro Shoes, Batteries, Foam - not yet shipped as the Pro10 foam was back ordered. I will follow up with the supplier today.

Serpent: Will be shipped Monday.

I will post when I have everything in hand or at least the bulk of it, particularly if Canwest and Serpent are delayed whatsoever.

Hi, Guys.

Rubber tires are in, Corally foam is in, Tekin ESCs are in and I will bring your orders to the track (briefly!) around 11:00 on Sunday. Please spread the word. No word yet from Canwest and Serpent.

The short answer is no. If we did, then everyone's cost would increase due to multiple shipments. Korgae told me last week that everything was due in "any day now." I am cautiously optimistic that it will come in this week.

Hi, Guys.

The Canwest order representing the last of the club stock was shipped yesterday and will be here for you on Sunday (nitro shoes, Pro10 foam, batteries). Tx.

Hi, Guys.

If anyone is looking, I have two sets of Green Rears and Black fronts on hand from the club order in April. First come, first served. LMK and I will bring them this weekend.
