I don't know what to do?
« on: September 12, 2005, 08:13:50 PM »
Hey guys,
I am writing this but not happy about it. As you all know I have gone full scale racing and have not been showing up for irocc races. The full size car is taking up all my time. I don't know if I should sell my car and use the money to buy an offroad truck? something I can use at home.
Also Grinder borrowed my car to allow someone to try racing out, But i have not heard from him since? has anyone seen the car out? if so how did it do?

Well, it seems to me as though your stock car season is likely to end soon, since there doesn't seem to be a whole heck of a lot of full-scale racing around here during the winter.  Why not add a 1/12 scale car to your stable, since that won't conflict with your 1:1 car racing.  That's what a few other IROCC guys have done that run full scale race cars as well.

The only problem with 1/12 scale racing is I have no way of getting to and from the track. I am only 15.

Since when has your age prevented you from bumming a ride from a fellow racer?  I'm sure there's plenty of guys who would be willing to car-pool with you.

Well you could try calling me or PMing me :)  Generally if you want to get a hold of someone you can't just hang you head out the window and call their name (well unless they are standing outside your window...  which I haven't been for the record...)

Jon came out to practice on Sunday but hasn't run any races.  He's bringing the car back though since its the end of the season.

As for getting a ride I've picked you up and dropped you off plenty of times for 1/10th scale - I'd be happy to do it for 1/12th scale as well.  All you have to do is ask!

Don't sell your car - keep it and come race with us next year when 1/10th starts up again.  The TC3s aren't worth much and I think you are way better off to keep it even if its a shelf racer half the season.  You've got lots of free time - its just how you decide to manage your time.  I'm away this weekend but I'll come pick you up next weekend and you can come out and race with us.  I picked up some of the inserts for your c-hubs so you should be good to go - no excuses!  Besides you need all the practice racing you can get.  You still running hit-to-pass ;)
