Upcoming out of town races
« on: July 21, 2005, 10:46:48 AM »
All,
With the interest in the VMAR race and now the announcment of the Kamloops classic, I was wondering if we(the club) should post a list of individuals whom are or not planning on attending these races.  This would be in the event that alternate arrangments are needed to run the computer, tow the trailer ect.....with a tally of attendees, a decision could be made if our regular club races could actually be run.

Your thoughts comments and questions would be great,

Hello al,
I sent out the original thread sometime ago.  It had a bunch of viewings but no replies!!  In speaing with a few individuals oday about the upcoming race in Vancouver I was really interested in getting a list of people whom are or are not going to be around the race weekend of te 28th.  I have been informed that most of the sunday organizers are going to vancouver so I was wondering if we have other interested in pulling fill in duties of handling towing the trailer, organizing the races(computer stuff) announcing races, handling registration and the like.  My question is do we have enough people staying back capable of pulling together an actually points run race, or does sunday the 28th become a cancelled race day, or an organized practice?  I am looking for numbers of people staying back, people willing to help and any other ideas you all might have....
Let me know sooner than later so we can get somthing firmed up.
Thanx

I'm planing on going over.... like I said I have my class 2 if we decide we need to take a bus over ;)

Is this gonna be a free for all or are we gonna try and get a group rate at a motel or are we staying with friends, etc?  I'm assuming it would be a one nighter at the hotel.  I figure it would be the same cost to go over with a bunch of guys than taking just my car and staying with a buddy...

Yeah, I think the organization will be left up to each racer.  Likely there will be several "groups" organizing small car pools and such.

Perhaps the guys who are planning on taking over large trucks/vans could let us know if they'll have any extra cargo space for those of us with smaller vehicles.

Oh, and if it's decided that IROCC will not be racing (or just simply practicing) then we could take along the IROCC generator.

Well I'm definately on the fence.  If there are enough of us staying here to run an actual race day, then I will stay and gladly contribute anyway I can.  A practice day would be fine too, but I'd like to have the trailer at least for walls, dots, hoses and such.

Other than that, I may check out Van.....

I will definately be going, but cannot provide transport for anyone else since my wife will be going as well. I already have accomodation set up though. If need be I can carry equipment for people if they don't have space.
