So because of the track size (33x62) and not very organized I will not be returning and I will be going back to TZ.

Ouch....  So there is still room on the COHO  Friday 10am sailing.  We could still make it there with a half a day practice!

gosh i envy you shawn, being able to go to races whenever you want lol. blake too... in 2014 id like to do a few wcics race weekends. possibly a timezone race but will be indoor. TZGP outside looks like fun, but nitro is getting expensive for the amount of runtime iv'e got with it.
I could afford to take up autocross instead with how much that pit costs lol.

the plan was to do airdrie.. but.. instead that money is sitting in the driveway in a mess of expensive paperweights atm...

hope there was some good from the penticton race. dispite the forum trash that sparked last week. Amber and "anthony"? seem really into rc. would be great to support enthusiastic people like that in the future.

Don't include me in that!  I dont actually make it to alot of away races (or home races) due to work obligations.  My wife always says "He is married to the military, and I am the mistress."   Which seems to be the truth sometimes.   Home or Away, I enjoy the racing, and try to get out as much as i can. To take a trip out of canada, I have to get permission and sometimes can take upto 2 months to get approved.

Just to touch on the RC budget.  Have a realistic racing budget, and be happy with it.  I learned real quick if you want the budget to go further, then reduce the number of classes you are running.   If the wife starts complaining about you spending to much money, then maybe have a good listen. (And start sending the RC Mart orders to friends house. ;) )

Its really debatable if electric or nitro is more expensive then the other. It all depends on how much you want to spend, and how fast you want to go. Nitro last year was cheap for me.  2 Sets of wheels ($40), Gallon Fuel ($40), a 1 Spur Gear (First gear $7), 2 Glow Plugs ($4), and one picco Motor ($60.). With the money I put aside for TZ, I am going to buy another transponder, and a new nitro motor. (RB or 353)

The reason I like to race "away" events is that it gives me a chance to be just be a racer, and actually spend time tuning my car and enjoying the event.  I don't get to do that much at our local trophy races nor our club races.  It's fun sitting in the pits working on your stuff and not having a voice in the back of your head saying "Are we running on time... is everyone having fun... we need to call the next race to the line...".

As for budget, I just take my car payments budget and children budget, and apply it to RC instead!

And then you still had to pay for the other 99% of your budget!  Jarod dont try and compare the costs of real racing to RC racing... Already got a forum locked because of that... Nice Sprinter though... When did you get that?

Heh considering i just paid out $700 just parts for a new clutch and flywheel, cant imagine what kind if rc budget equates that truck heh. Just pressing a pair transmission bearings and getting a 5th gear shift fork will prob be $350 all said and done.  Now if i was autocrossing it would be money into adjustable suspension, race tires ect ect. Rc is preeeety cheap comparitively.

The Money doesnt bother me really. We dont do a lot of the indulgent things most people do so our incomes go quite far actually.
The $400 spent on that motor this year for me wasnt a big deal. Just sucks to have it sit so much. Electric can at least be enjoyed year round.

Ill get to travel. Just when maria is a little older. Id like to get more involved in the club as well to maybe take some of that burden off the few people who shoulder it and help keep the club going.
