I wasn't going to go racing tonight as I only had my touring car ready to run but I decided to go anyway. I am glad I did as I had a lot of fun racing the touring car for my first time on carpet and with 11 touring cars there we had 2 heats. I am looking forword to getting my 1/12th scale ready to race hopfully for next weekend.

+1 that was lots of fun  tonight. Glad I brought the touring and got the 1/12 going also. Some
close racing should be a good season.

Yeah, I had fun too - although I was quite busy without some of the usual computer operators around to help.  Good racing in both 12th and TC.  Big thanks to the entire Nanaimo crew for making the trip!

The contractor told me they *should* complete the heaters by Tuesday night.  So, hopefully the pit area will be more organized next time.

My car ran not bad as it has not seen the track since last November

Thanks Benjamin - yeah just bring it back on Wed.

Practice should be a "go" for Wednesday and possibly Thursday this week.  Hoping to have the pit area organized by then if those scissor lifts disappear on Tuesday.  Fingers crossed.

How long does a set of touring tires last on carpet? A full season?

Depends on how long you want to run them.

If your tire budget allows it, budget for 2-3 sets this winter.      If you racing budget doesn't allow, then run them until you can see the belting!   Its just a time/handling thing, as the tires wear and age, the rubber gets harder, and you lose time on the track. A new set of tires in outdoors is worth an extra lap in 6 minutes.

Oxidization of the rubber is  a problem for these little tires, so keeping them in a sealed ziplock bag will help the rubber stay softer longer.

I am keeping an eye on my tires, and they did wear a fair amount last weekend, but I am still expecting to get 6-8 weekends of racing on them.   Then I will buy 2 new sets for speedweekend, and run those for the rest of the season.

Like that matters.  Your one of those guys that could drive a car with 3 wheels, half a body, and the motor dragging on the ground, and still put the clunker car into the A-Main.
