IROCC Speed Weekend 2015 Summer Touring Car Trophy Race and Enduro


New Format for 2015
Due to a smaller local and guest attendance over the last couple years, IROCC is presenting a stripped down version of Speed Weekend Asphalt this year:

Day #1, Saturday July 4th: Trophy Race
Saturday will feature the regular Speed Weekend Asphalt trophy race format with 3x qualifiers and mains on a single day.  This will allow travelling racers to avoid hotel costs entirely and will be less of a time committment.  Of course free shuttle service to/from the ferry terminal is available to further reduce travel costs.

Day #2, Sunday July 5th: Enduro Races
For the hardcore, and track-time seekers, grab a hotel for Saturday night and join us for Enduro Sunday.  Sunday will feature two enduro events - one TC Electric and one TC Nitro.  Enduro teams will be made up of 3-4 racers.  Big shout-out to the RRR crew in Richmond for devising this format last summer at RRR Raceway.



Day #1, Trophy Race Details

Race Date: July 4, 2015

Classes:

Touring Stock
-17.5BL motors, Non-boosted ESC, 7.4V LiPo
-Rubber tires (32 or 36 compound only)

Touring Modified
-Open motor and Open ESC, 7.4V LiPo
-Rubber tires (32 or 36 compound only)

Touring Nitro
-Any .12 engine
-Foam tires

World GT
-10.5BL motors, Non-boosted ESC, 3.7V LiPo
-Spec World GT tires

CTA/VTA/Mini/F1
-Dependent on interest


Location:
Colwood (10 minutes west of Victoria)

Entry Fees:
1st class $30
2nd class $10
3rd class $10
Out of town racers (outside of Greater Victoria) get their 2nd (and 3rd) classes for free.

Schedule:
Saturday, July 4th - Trophy Race
  8:00AM - 10:20AM: Open practice and registration
10:20AM - 10:30AM: Drivers meeting
10:30AM -   4:00PM: Qualifying rounds (3 rounds with a resort after every round)
  4:00PM -   6:00PM: Main events


Day #2, Enduro Race Details

Race Date: July 5, 2015

Concept
-Minimum three people per team: driver, pit-person, corner marshal
-Equalized driving time for team members
-One member from each team must be corner marshaling at all times during the enduro
-One car per team per enduro
-No replacement cars allowed, you must fix the original chassis
-Any parts, electronics, motors, tires, engines are allowed to be swapped during the race

Electric Enduro (3hrs)
-1/10 Electric Touring Car chassis
-17.5BL motors, Non-boosted ESC, 7.4V LiPo
-Rubber tires
-Three hour race length

Nitro Enduro (3hrs)
-1/10 Nitro Touring Car chassis
-Any .12 engine
-Foam tires
-Three hour race length

Location:

Entry Fees:
Racers from Saturday $5/Enduro
New Racers $10/Enduro

No, it's staying on the advertised dates: July 4-5.  This is its usual weekend anyway.

Sounds like the Haddows may be able to make it afterall which will be great!

PS.  I would like to do a little pre-registration for Speed Weekend at racing this Sunday.  Give some thought to the class(es) you plan to run.

The Americans have been tearing up the northwest with these tires!

* It is our intention to finish on Saturday in time for racers to make the 7PM ferry (buffet) back to the mainland.  We will keep tabs on the volume during the day to see if reservations are required.

** Similar story on Sunday.  We intend to finish the enduros in time for racers to make the 5PM ferry (also buffet).  Sundays are often busier, and a reservation may ensure you are not stuck on the 6PM ferry (no buffet).
